Milk Maiden Update #3

Although my water intake has decreased (because nearly a gallon is just soooo much for me), I’m still seeing progress. My boobs start to ache every 1.5 to 2 hours, which means I have to schedule my outings so that I can leave after pumping and get back home in time to stay on schedule or at least not ache like crazy.

I’ve added and subtracted some of my daily supplements. Like I stated before, I read that fenugreek can be counterproductive so I eliminated the Mother’s Milk tea, and the fenugreek tabs. I think the emergency brownies also had fenugreek in them, so I set them aside. I don’t remember if I read anything about milk thistle being counterproductive but I eliminated it as well. I think they were good for increasing supply but not good for beginning the relactation process. I added sunflower lecithin and Liquid Gold by Legendairy Milk, so now I am taking:

  • Liquid Gold
  • Sunflower Lecithin
  • Spirulina tablets
  • Shatavari tablets
  • Dairy Dutchess supplements
I made enough milk to flow into the bottle!!!

I’m still power pumping once per day. I gave myself a break this past weekend though. I’ve also started lowering the suction on the pump because shopvac’ing my nipples every 2 hours is starting to hurt a lot. I do think the move to bigger flanges were a good thing, but I just found a size guide so I’ll have to measure my nipples and see for sure.

Overall, the process is a bit painful and exhausting but I have goals and dreams, so I’m still in the game. I’m super excited to see what happens when we add the domperidone to the mix, as from what I read, that’s the game changer.
